Mission
Kachemak Roast is born from the wild beauty of Alaska—where mornings are crisp, the air sharp with salt and pine, the mountains stand tall, and a steaming cup of coffee is more than a drink; it’s warmth and comfort, a small ritual that feels like home, no matter how far the wilderness takes you.
We believe in giving back to the place that inspires us, our home. That’s why we proudly support Friends of Kachemak Bay State Parks, a nonprofit committed to preserving and enhancing nearly 400,000 acres of mountains, glaciers, forests, beaches, and rivers—ensuring that trails, wildlife, and wilderness remain wild and accessible for all.
We also partner with the South Peninsula Hospital Foundation, a local nonprofit that champions community health and wellness in rural Homer. Their work—from funding crucial medical equipment and scholarships to helping families access care when travel is a barrier—ensures that this rugged region isn’t just wild but supported and well cared for.
At Kachemak Roast, every cup tells a story: of untouched landscapes, of fresh beginnings, and of community woven into every roast.
Founded by Edson Knapp in 2025, Kachemak Roast reflects the rugged beauty and quiet resilience of life in Homer, Alaska, where Edson has lived since 2016. A radiologist by trade and an adventurer at heart, he built the brand to share his love of fresh, small-batch coffee and the wild, untamed spirit of Alaska—one cup at a time.
